Day 32
“Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie!”
-(Psalm 40: 4)
In the world we live in today, many depend on the adulation of others to feel safe and secure. The need of acceptance through positive comments and likes on Facebook and Instagram has become a form of worship and devotion. The world cannot and will not be a source of help when we seek for true peace and help for our troubles.
David in Psalm 40 after a long period of prayer and patiently waiting for God, reported joyfully on his deliverance by God. David encouraged others to trust the Lord to provide and not reach out to those who “turn aside to false gods” (Psalm 40: 4, NIV).
David reveals God as the helper and deliverer of those who seek Him. The world is insufficient and unstable for us to trust our life on. David, in Psalm 20: 7 therefore declares his source of strength: “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.”
Let’s look upward towards God, for our infallible resource for help. Take time today to look at how God’s grace has worked in your life, thank Him for them and trust Him in your present circumstances and for the future.
