Restore, Not Tear Down
(Day 10 – 28 Feb 2026)
We live in a world where, when someone makes a mistake—especially someone in a position of influence or high standing—the response is often swift and harsh. People are quick to judge, shame, and tear that person down.
Yet Galatians 6:1 reminds us of a very different response:
“Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.”
Before we rush to judge, let us pause and examine our own hearts. Instead of condemnation, we are called to approach others with gentleness and love, seeking restoration rather than humiliation—just as Christ has done for us.
This passage also reminds us to extend a helping hand to those who are hurting or in need. We are not to think of ourselves as more important or of higher standing. Spiritual maturity is not measured by superiority, but by humility and compassion.
In a world that constantly encourages us to look inward and prioritise our own needs, it is easy to focus on ourselves first. I must confess that I have been guilty of this as well. Yet as I reflect on this passage, I thank God for the reminder to fix our eyes on Christ and to look outward toward others.
Often, it is the simplest acts of kindness that make the greatest impact—a text message, a phone call, or meeting someone for coffee. To those who are hurting, struggling, or suffering silently, such gestures may mean far more than we realise.
May God soften our hearts, open our eyes, and lead us to encourage and restore those around us with gentleness and grace. Amen.
