Lenten Devotion: Jesus Fills Our Need (John 6:27-40)
Day 10 – 15 Mar 2025
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” John 6:35
We need food (bread) to sustain all our daily needs. Likewise, we need to believe in Jesus and establish a relationship with Him to satisfy our spiritual hunger and live a life in God.
I recall vividly an amazing miracle I experienced many years ago in COA. I had a pain in my elbow for about a month, with no cure after consulting doctors. So a friend invited me to a Prayer & Praise Worship night at COA.
Afraid of the dark, I arrived at the sanctuary before sunset, knelt down at the pew nearest to the main entrance and prayed. Nobody was there at that time.
About an hour later, I heard a loud noise at the front and heard light footsteps coming towards me. I opened my eyes and saw a petite young lady with long hair in white t-shirt and blue jeans, waving to me, saying, “Keep on praying, your prayer will be answered.” I continued with my prayer fervently until the crowd came in.
During the worship session, I felt something struck my head and then felt peace flowing down my entire body. Two ladies then placed their hands on both sides of my shoulders and prayed. After five minutes, I could feel an intense burning sensation in my body. It was a nice warm feeling which lasted for several minutes.
More significantly, the pain in my elbow disappeared totally!
When I narrated my experience to my colleagues, one believed that the young lady was an angel. Another, curious about my healing, accompanied me to church.
Subsequently, I brought my 2 older sisters to COA and they are now baptized. God not only healed my elbow, but graciously brought my 2 sisters to salvation. We have all experienced the Lord Jesus filling our need for him. To God be the glory!
