“If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it.” 1 Cor. 12:26
The Visitation Ministry team abides by the belief that all Christians share the responsibility and privilege to “bear one another’s burden and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
We seek to encourage and offer support to church members who are hospitalised, homebound, beset with chronic or terminal illness, in convalescence, or with special needs.
In ministering to these needy brothers and sisters in Christ, we also hope to seize the opportunity for reaching out to their family members who are non-believers and for follow-up, when the seed has been sown.
With the few members in our team, we try to visit as many as we are aware of or are given the contact. The visits are carried out weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly. Sometimes, it could be on an ad hoc basis.
On a typical visit, the team brings food and fruits to the home or place where the person concerned is staying, updates him on the church’s development/events, lends a listening ear, shares Bible verses and sings hymns and songs to encourage and cheer him up, and administers Holy Communion. Other times, we would drive him to and from the hospital, collect his medicine and help him to get food and things he needs. We would even celebrate his birthday and have a carolling session during Christmas.
We welcome any request for a visit and hope to have more people joining us. Please contact the church office.
